6-Month Renew Warranty Policy

Effective Date: August 2026

At Renew Gadgets, we stand behind the quality of every device we sell. Every eligible device is professionally tested, inspected, and quality checked before being offered for sale.

Our 6-Month Renew Warranty is designed to give you confidence and peace of mind when purchasing a new, open-box, or renewed device from us.

This policy explains what is covered, what is excluded, and how warranty claims are handled.


1. Warranty Provider

All warranty claims must be submitted directly to Renew Gadgets.


2. Warranty Period

Eligible products include a 6-month limited warranty commencing from the date the product is delivered or collected by the customer.

The warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

Warranty coverage applies only within the Republic of South Africa unless otherwise agreed in writing.


3. What The Warranty Covers

This warranty covers functional defects that arise during normal intended use of the device.

Covered faults may include:

✔ Speaker failures

✔ Microphone failures

✔ Camera failures

✔ Fingerprint sensor failures

✔ Face recognition sensor failures

✔ Wi-Fi hardware faults

✔ Bluetooth hardware faults

✔ Cellular network hardware faults

✔ SIM reader failures

✔ Display faults not caused by accidental damage

✔ Internal hardware failures

Laptops & Computers

✔ Keyboard failures

✔ Trackpad failures

✔ Charging faults

✔ Display faults not caused by accidental damage

✔ USB port failures

✔ HDMI port failures

✔ Wi-Fi hardware faults

✔ Bluetooth hardware faults

✔ Internal component failures

Smartwatches & Wearables

✔ Charging faults

✔ Hardware sensor failures

✔ Display faults not caused by accidental damage

✔ Internal hardware failures

All covered faults remain subject to inspection and verification by Renew Gadgets.


4. Warranty Resolution Process

Where a valid warranty claim is approved, Renew Gadgets will generally follow the process below:

Step 1 – Troubleshooting

Our support team may attempt to resolve the issue remotely through software, configuration or troubleshooting procedures.

Step 2 – Repair

Where practical, the device will be repaired using new, refurbished or equivalent replacement parts.

Step 3 – Replacement

If repair is not possible or commercially reasonable, Renew Gadgets may replace the device with a comparable device of similar specification, condition and value.

Step 4 – Store Credit

If repair or replacement is not possible, Renew Gadgets may issue store credit equal to the original purchase value of the device. This credit may be used towards the purchase of any eligible product available from Renew Gadgets.

Step 5 – Refund Option

Customers may elect to receive a refund instead of store credit where applicable and in accordance with their rights under South African consumer protection legislation.

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to determine the most appropriate remedy based on the nature of the fault, product availability, the age of the device and applicable legal requirements.


5. Warranty Assessment

All devices submitted under warranty will undergo inspection and testing.

Warranty assessments may be performed by:

  • Renew Gadgets
  • Authorised service providers
  • Approved repair partners, including TT3 Repairs

Customers must cooperate with reasonable troubleshooting and diagnostic requests before a warranty claim can proceed.


6. Battery Coverage

Batteries are consumable components that naturally degrade with age and use.

Battery health percentages and cycle counts disclosed on product listings represent the condition of the battery at the time of testing.

This warranty covers:

✔ Battery failure

✔ Battery faults caused by defective components

✔ Charging-related battery faults

This warranty does not cover:

✖ Natural battery degradation

✖ Reduced battery capacity due to normal use

✖ Reduced runtime caused by battery ageing

✖ Customer dissatisfaction with battery endurance where no defect exists

The natural reduction in battery performance over time is not considered a warranty defect.


7. What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

Physical Damage

✖ Cracked screens

✖ Cracked glass panels

✖ Bent frames

✖ Impact damage

✖ Drops

✖ Dents caused after purchase

Liquid Damage

✖ Water damage

✖ Moisture damage

✖ Corrosion

✖ Exposure to liquids

Customer-Caused Damage

✖ Negligence

✖ Misuse

✖ Abuse

✖ Improper storage

✖ Unauthorised repairs

✖ Tampering

Software Issues

✖ Unsupported software modifications

✖ Rooting or jailbreaking

✖ Unauthorised operating system modifications

✖ Third-party software problems

✖ Malware or virus infections

Cosmetic Wear

✖ Scratches

✖ Scuffs

✖ Paint wear

✖ Coating wear

✖ Normal wear and tear after purchase

Accessories

Unless otherwise stated, accessories are not covered beyond Dead-On-Arrival defects.

This may include:

✖ Chargers

✖ Charging cables

✖ Earphones

✖ Cases

✖ Screen protectors


8. Warranty Void Conditions

This warranty may be void if:

  • The device has been opened or repaired by an unauthorised party.
  • The serial number has been removed or altered.
  • The device has been modified.
  • Evidence of liquid damage is found.
  • The fault results from misuse or accidental damage.

9. Data & Backups

Customers are responsible for backing up all data before submitting a device for warranty service.

Renew Gadgets shall not be responsible for:

  • Data loss
  • Account loss
  • Software loss
  • Lost files
  • Lost photographs

Devices may need to be reset, restored or erased during testing or repair.


10. Shipping & Collection For Warranty Claims

Customers must first contact Renew Gadgets before sending any device for warranty assessment.

Renew Gadgets will provide instructions regarding:

  • Collection arrangements
  • Courier procedures
  • Drop-off options

Approved warranty claims may qualify for shipping assistance at Renew Gadgets' discretion.


11. No Fault Found

If testing determines that:

  • No fault exists; or
  • The reported issue falls outside warranty coverage;

the device may be returned to the customer.

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to charge reasonable diagnostic, inspection or shipping costs where permitted by law.


12. Device Grading & Cosmetic Condition

Renew Gadgets specialises in new, open-box and renewed devices.

Cosmetic condition is disclosed through:

  • Product photographs
  • Product descriptions
  • Condition reports
  • Grading classifications

The following grading system is used:

Like New (A+)

Pristine condition with no visible signs of use.

Excellent (A)

Minimal cosmetic signs of use while remaining in excellent overall condition.

Very Good (B)

Moderate cosmetic wear with full functionality.

Good (C)

Noticeable wear while remaining fully functional.

Cosmetic characteristics disclosed at the time of purchase are not warranty defects.


13. Consumer Rights

This warranty is provided in addition to any rights available under:

  • The Consumer Protection Act, 2008
  • The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002
  • Any other applicable South African legislation

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded.
