1. Introduction

Welcome to Renew Gadgets (Pty) Ltd ("Renew Gadgets", "we", "us", or "our").

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of our website, products, and services. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree to these Terms & Conditions, you should not use this website or purchase products from us.

These Terms & Conditions must be read together with our Returns & Refund Policy, Warranty Policy, Privacy Policy, and Shipping & Delivery Policy.

3. Definitions

For purposes of these Terms:

  • "Customer" means any person or entity purchasing products from Renew Gadgets.
  • "Website" means the Renew Gadgets online store and associated webpages.
  • "Products" means all devices, accessories, and related goods sold by Renew Gadgets.
  • "Renewed Device" means a pre-owned device that has been inspected, tested, and approved for resale.
  • "Open-Box Device" means a device that has been opened but remains in excellent functional condition.
  • "Business Day" means Monday to Friday excluding South African public holidays.

4. Website Use

By using this website, you warrant that:

  • You are at least 18 years old or have permission from a legal guardian.
  • All information supplied by you is accurate and complete.
  • You will not use the website for unlawful purposes.
  • You will not interfere with the operation or security of the website.

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to users who violate these Terms.

5. Product Information

We make every reasonable effort to ensure product descriptions, specifications, pricing, and availability are accurate.

However:

  • Product specifications may vary from manufacturer information.
  • Colours may appear differently depending on your display device.
  • Availability is subject to stock on hand.
  • Errors may occasionally occur.

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to correct any pricing, specification, or listing errors without prior notice.

6. Device Grading & Condition

Renew Gadgets uses the following grading system:

Like New (A+)

Pristine condition with no visible signs of use.

Excellent (A)

Minimal cosmetic signs of use while remaining in excellent overall condition.

Very Good (B)

Moderate cosmetic wear with full functionality.

Good (C)

Noticeable wear while remaining fully functional.

Grading is subjective and intended as a general guide. Customers should review all product photographs and condition reports before purchasing.

7. Product Images

Unless otherwise stated, gallery images displayed on a product page represent the actual device available for purchase.

Featured images may occasionally be representative images used to identify the product model.

Customers are encouraged to review all available images carefully prior to placing an order.

8. Pricing & Payment

All prices displayed on the website are in South African Rand (ZAR).

Renew Gadgets is currently not VAT registered. VAT is therefore not charged separately unless stated otherwise.

Orders will only be processed once payment has been successfully received and confirmed.

We reserve the right to cancel orders where:

  • Pricing errors have occurred;
  • Products are unavailable;
  • Fraud is suspected;
  • Payment cannot be verified.

If payment has already been received, a full refund will be issued.

9. Orders & Acceptance

Submission of an order does not constitute acceptance by Renew Gadgets.

An order is only accepted when:

  • Payment has been received;
  • Stock availability has been confirmed;
  • The order has been approved for fulfilment.

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order at its discretion.

10. Delivery & Collection

Delivery

Renew Gadgets offers nationwide delivery within South Africa.

Delivery services may be fulfilled through:

  • Bob Go
  • The Courier Guy
  • Other approved courier partners

In-stock products are generally dispatched within 1–3 business days.

Delivery timeframes are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Renew Gadgets shall not be liable for delays caused by:

  • Couriers
  • Weather events
  • Public unrest
  • Force majeure events
  • Incorrect customer information

Collections

Customers may collect orders by prior arrangement from approved service and collection centres.

Proof of identity may be required upon collection.

11. Ownership & Risk

Ownership of products transfers to the customer only once full payment has been received.

Risk in the product passes to the customer upon successful delivery or collection.

Customers should inspect packages immediately upon receipt and report any visible damage within 24 hours.

12. Returns & Refunds

Returns are governed by our Returns & Refund Policy.

Subject to applicable legislation:

  • Customers may request a change-of-mind return within 10 days of receiving the product.
  • Products must be returned in substantially the same condition supplied.
  • Deductions may be applied for missing accessories, damage, cleaning, testing, refurbishment, or shipping costs where permitted by law.

Returns must be authorised by Renew Gadgets before products are returned.

13. Warranty

All eligible products are covered by the applicable Renew Gadgets Warranty Policy.

Warranty claims must be submitted directly to Renew Gadgets.

Renew Gadgets may utilise authorised repair partners, including TT3 Repairs, to perform diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on its behalf.

Warranty resolution generally follows the process below:

  1. Troubleshooting
  2. Repair
  3. Replacement
  4. Refund

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to determine the most appropriate remedy in each case.

14. Battery Health & Consumable Components

Battery health percentages and cycle counts may be disclosed where available.

Customers acknowledge that:

  • Batteries are consumable components.
  • Battery performance naturally decreases with age and use.
  • Normal battery degradation is not considered a defect.

The warranty does not cover the natural reduction in battery capacity that occurs over time.

15. Data Security & Device Preparation

Renew Gadgets takes reasonable steps to ensure all pre-owned and renewed devices are factory reset and cleared of previous user data before resale.

Customers are responsible for:

  • Securing their own accounts;
  • Creating backups of personal data;
  • Removing personal information before returning devices for service or warranty assessment.

Renew Gadgets shall not be responsible for loss of customer data.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Renew Gadgets shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect losses;
  • Consequential damages;
  • Loss of income;
  • Loss of business opportunities;
  • Loss of data;
  • Third-party service interruptions.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

17. Intellectual Property

All content appearing on this website, including:

  • Logos
  • Branding
  • Product descriptions
  • Images
  • Graphics
  • Website design
  • Text

remains the property of Renew Gadgets or its licensors.

No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written consent.

18. Privacy & POPIA

Renew Gadgets processes personal information in accordance with:

  • The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
  • The Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA)
  • Applicable South African legislation

Personal information is collected solely for legitimate business purposes including:

  • Order fulfilment
  • Customer support
  • Warranty administration
  • Legal compliance

19. Consumer Rights

Nothing contained in these Terms & Conditions is intended to limit, exclude, or restrict any rights afforded to consumers under:

  • The Consumer Protection Act, 2008
  • The Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002
  • Any other applicable South African legislation

Where any provision conflicts with applicable law, the law shall prevail.

20. Force Majeure

Renew Gadgets shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations where such delay or failure results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters
  • Acts of government
  • Labour disputes
  • Internet failures
  • Courier disruptions
  • Public unrest
  • Power outages

21. Amendments

Renew Gadgets reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.

Updated versions will be published on the website and become effective upon publication.

22. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
